Project Background

Founded in 1986, USHIO HONG KONG LTD is USHIO’s flagship overseas base and plays an important role as USHIO’s principal Asian subsidiary. In 1991, USHIO HK established a factory in Yuen Long, Hong Kong for manufacturing electronic components for OA equipment. To respond to the business development, USHIO relocated the factory to the Mainland in later years. In 2012, USHIO decided to redevelop the production line in Yuen Long factory and commissioned the BPS Global Group to carry out a series of renovation works including roof waterproofing work, production and warehousing area renovation, office renovation. The production line is expected to come into operation in Oct, 2012.

Project Challenges

  • The existing aged waterproofing layer was not able to withstand the high rainfall during the rainy and typhoon season, so the project had to be speed up in order to prevent further damage. The work progress was slightly hindered by the heavy rain.
  • Electronic components and machines stored in the warehouse are sensitive to dust nuisance. Protection in electronic components for ductis is a must during the project.
  • Major works could not be carried out during the normal working hours as USHIO office kept doing “business as usual” throughout the project period.
